It is a perfect place for history buffs! This extremely old monastery was founded by Rinchensang-po (950-1055 AD) and is very ancient.

Hatu Mandir
Made in typical Himachali architecture with alternate bands of wood and stone this temple has exquisite woodcarvings all around it. Carvings depict scenes from Indian epics Ramayana and Mahabharata. Legend is that the stone image inside the temple belongs to Draupadi as the temple is supposed to be at the exact spot where she fell and died while the Pandavas were on their way to the heaven.

Kotgarh Church
Church Missionary Society from London established St Mary’s Church here, way back in 1872, when Kotgarh was a part of the Punjab province. It is a quaint little church in yellow surrounded by hills and winding roads leading to it. You can see a hint of gothic architecture even in the simplest possible exteriors of the church.
